ABOUT BCYD

Beach Cities Young Democrats (BCYD) was founded shortly after the 2024 election.

BCYD is run by and serves Democrats and progressives ages 13–21 across the South Bay of Los Angeles.

Our goals are simple: build our community, teach and learn practical political skills, and become the next generation of Democratic leaders.

Whether you're brand new to politics or already active in your school or city, BCYD gives you opportunities to:

• Make friends and build community
• Develop political and leadership skills
• Volunteer for causes you care about
• Connect with local Democratic groups
• Find out about and complete internships with state and local leaders
• Start or Join a School Club
• Earn Community Service Hours
• Achieve the CA State Civic Seal

Democrats under 25 in Southern California can have an ENORMOUS impact on elections across the country. Everyone starts somewhere! BCYD is a place to learn, grow, and make a difference together.
