CALIFORNIA STATE SEAL OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

WHAT IS THE CALIFORNIA STATE SEAL OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT?

The Civic Seal is a special award available to California high school Juniors and Seniors who fulfill the qualifications for leadership, community involvement, and civic participation.

WHY SHOULD I CARE?

The Civic Seal appears on your high school diploma and transcript. You can discuss your work on attaining the Civic Seal, and it looks great on college, scholarship, and internship applications.

CAN BCYD HELP ME EARN IT?

BCYD activities can help satisfy Civic Seal requirements and also help you create your own project to submit with your application.

DOES MY SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFER IT?

Participation is handled at the district level rather than your specific high school. Click here to see whether your South Bay school district already participates.

WHAT IF MY SCHOOL DOESN'T OFFER IT?

If your school district doesn't offer it, or if you are homeschooling or attending a private school, BCYD can help you with the qualification process. Click here for more information.
